Hubris is a note-taking tool that works the way your brain works - not the other way around. Traditional tools expect you to build structure before you can think: folders, notebooks, hierarchies. You organize for the tool, not for yourself. Hubris is for the visual thinker, the creator, the polymath, the person who takes in everything from everywhere and wants one place to put it all. Hubris is the tool you use when you're a creator, connecting dots from multiple domains that others fail to see.
Your brain doesn't think in folders. It never did. Thoughts don't arrive pre-sorted. They arrive while you're in the shower, mid-conversation, three tabs deep into something you can't quite name yet. They arrive sideways, tangled, half-formed - and they deserve a tool that meets them exactly where they are. Notes just exist - waiting to be found, connected, and revisited whenever you need them.
A workspace is a table, not a cabinet. You don't organize a table. You sit down, you pull out what you need, and you work. When you're done, you can name the session and come back to it. Or you can clear the surface and start again. That's what a workspace is. A surface for right now. Not a commitment. Not a system to maintain. Not another thing to organize before you can actually think.
The flow is simple. The thinking is yours. A thought arrives → you take a note. Maybe you go down a rabbit hole → take more notes → save the session for later. Or maybe the thought comes back days later. You search for it. You pull it onto a fresh workspace. You keep going. No retracing your steps. No remembering which notebook, which folder, which tag. Your notes find you through search, through tags, through the links you draw between them. You don't need to remember where you put things anymore.
Let Hubris expand the way you work
You keep this version for life and get upto 1 year of updates. What this means is if you bought Hubris v2 and I release v3 within a year of your purchase - you get the upgrade for free! If a year is up and let's say you only have v2 and there have been no major releases, you will still continue to get updates for that version until I release a v3 - which you can then pay to upgrade to. Upgrades will always be heavily discounted if you've already purchased once. The pricing may change as I'm just starting out but I will always try to keep things accessible and always do my best to uphold giving more power to the user and letting people OWN what they buy ( no subscriptions ).
Yes! I want to bring more power back to the users and move away from authoritative structures. That's why Hubris is designed to be decentralised and local first. You own your data ( all data is only on your computer or the people you share with ), you own the software, and you still get all the cool features of being online - without having to sell yourself to a company. I believe the world will move towards more community first societies and this is my way of taking a bet on that future
